The Wait
Burt Ong

2 Timothy 2:2-4

God’s promises never come too late; in truth, they are never “late” at all. God is never “late;” He is always “on time.”

1. That Wait That Turns to Doubt
Doubts start to invade our thoughts and actions. We welcome any ideas that seems right to us.

2 Peter 2:1-10
Many are oblivious to the dangers and miss out the spiritual reference points

Galatians 1:6-7
1 Timothy 4:1-2

Modern False Teaching:
1) Overemphasis of Prosperity
2) Exaggerated View of Grace
3) Deification of Man
4) Challenging the Authority of the Word
5) Rejecting/Play down Hell

2 Corinthians 11:3-4
Key to our spiritual reference point. “Knowledge”, appears 16 times in this short 3 chapters. The primary solution to false teaching is knowledge of the true doctrine

2. That Doubt That Turns to Strength
God has no problem with doubt when it brings us CLOSER to Him and it STRENGTHENS our faith. The danger is doubt can lead us to sin and it makes us FURTHER from him.

Matt 11:2-3

a. Difficult situation (Matt 3:1-12)
b. Unmet Expectation (Isaiah 61:1)
c. Limited Knowledge/ Perception
